The mission of the association is to bring together boating companies under one roof and to promote their operations and healthy competition, as well as to promote boating and boating safety in our country. The main focus of the activities is on exhibitions in the field. The organizer of the Helsinki International Boat Show is Suomen Messut Oyj and Finnboat is the sponsor of the fair. Every year in August, Finnboat also organizes the Helsinki Uiva-Boat Afloat Show, and starting in 2025, the Naantali Boat Show will be held every May.
In addition to the scope of our activities in advocacy and exhibition operations, it is worth mentioning, among other things:
Finnboat's office is managed by Jarkko Pajusalo, CEO, with the assistance of Tiina Krooks, Office Manager. The office is located in the Sörnäinen district of Helsinki.
The highest decision-making body of the union is its meeting, which meets twice a year. At the meeting of the association, the voting rights are exercised by the representatives of the federal meetings of the associations, who are elected at the associations' own annual meetings.
In addition to the chairman and two vice-chairmen, the board of the association has 13 members who represent the boards of various associations. The Board carries out the tasks assigned to it by the associations at its meetings. The CEO of the association works under the Board, who in turn carries out the tasks assigned to him by the Board.
In addition to the actual office work, Finnboat's several working groups carry out many assignments given by member associations.
